Poltava State Medical University
- It is a Ukrainian state-run dental and medical school and is also known as the Ukrainian Medical and Stomatological Academy (UMSA).
- The University was established in the year 1921 by the dental faculty of Kharkiv Medical Academy.
- In 1967, the University was moved to the city of Poltava and was renamed as the Poltava Ukrainian Medical Stomatological (oral medicine) Academy (PUMSA).
- Due to its low death rate during surgery, the university received highest accreditation level and then it was renamed as Poltava State Medical University (PSMU) in the year 1994.

- There is no entrance exam in India like IELTS/ TOEFL etc. to study MBBS in Ukraine.

MBBS Course Duration in Ukraine
- The duration of MBBS course in Ukraine is 5.8 years including the clinical training in Ukraine. Most of the European countries have a course duration of 5.8 to 6 years for MBBS.
- After this, the student can come to India and sit for the exit test/NMC screening test and do his or her internship in India or can sit for any other exams such as PLAB or USMLE.
- Out of these 5.8 years, the first 3 years are non-clinical whereas, after that, the primary focus will be given on developing the clinical skills along with the theoretical knowledge of the students.
Medium or Language of Teaching while Studying MBBS in Ukraine
- Indian students are taught MBBS in English medium in all the NMC recognized medical schools in Ukraine.
- All the books of the students, their exams, etc.will be in the English language. Every medical university in Ukraine will teach its entire curriculum in the English language.
