In the year 1900, as the medical faculty of the Novorossiysk University in Odessa, the Odessa National Medical University was started. It is the major medical institution in Ukraine with the highest 4th level of accreditation assigned by the state authorities.

Odessa National Medical University is a member of the International & European association of universities. Hence, the training level of specialists and students is close to world standards.

International students can be taught in Russian, Ukrainian, and English. Postgraduate education is provided to 250 postgraduate students, masters, trainees, and medical residents.

Today, about 10 thousand students and trainees study at 66 departments and six faculties of the university, 3000 of those students are citizens of 52 foreign countries.
