In the year 1900, as the medical faculty of the Novorossiysk University in Odessa, the Odessa National Medical University was started. It is the major medical institution in Ukraine with the highest 4th level of accreditation assigned by the state authorities.

Eligibility Criteria: For MBBS Course at Odessa Medical University

The MBBS course at Odessa National Medical University has the following eligibility criteria:

The candidate must be 17 years old or more on or before 31st December of the year in which the admission is being taken.
Indian Nationals, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI’s), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO’s), Non-Resident Indians (NRI’s), & Foreign Nationals are eligible.
The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology at the qualifying examination and must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually.
All the candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology at their 10+2 level for 2 years continuously.
Candidates who have passed 10+2 from private schools or open schools are not eligible.

Step 1

Applicant or student should apply with the filled application form and other required documents for the invitation letter from the university. Documents can be sent by email.
Step 2

Then the applicant should make the payment by Western Union or by bank transfer.
Step 3

Once the university receives payment and documents, it will send you an invitation letter, visa support letter and admission letter by courier.
Step 4

After getting an invitation letter from Odessa National Medical University, applicants should contact nearest Ukraine Embassy or Consulate with the required documents.
Step 5

Students should inform the University authorities about their flight details with date and arrival time. So that one of the university’s representative will receive the student at the airport.
Step 6

In case if a student fails to inform the university about their arrival, then they will be deported back to the homeland.

Facilities Provided by Odessa National Medical University

ONMU provides accommodation facility to its students. There are six hostels with free 24 hrs. Electricity, gas, hot & cold water supply and phone.
Hostels are fully secured.
On the Black Sea shore, there is a sport-health complex, where over 500 students can rest in summer at a time.
The university’s Sports Complex is situated on the university’s premises and it includes six sports halls for various games, including table tennis, aerobics, wrestling, badminton, rhythmic gymnastics, athletics.
At the Students’ Polyclinic, annual medical examination of every student is carried out every year at the beginning of the academic session.
There are three different museums at the university which tell about the development of the University and also help them to study different subjects.
The library of ONMedU is one of the biggest and oldest libraries in Ukraine.
The university publishes different scientific, educational and methodological literature as it has a powerful printing base, the use of the latest information technologies and qualified staff. Three medical journals are published every year.

Faculties at the Odessa National Medical University

Faculty of Pharmacy

In 1903, the department of Pharmacy was established. Pharmacy course training is carried out on a full-time basis - 5 years, part-time basis - 5.5 years or training of junior specialists goes for 4.5 years.

Faculty of General Medicine

On the 1st of September, 1900, medical faculty was established in Odessa national medical university. Preclinical and clinical training is given in this course. and students can work as a trainee doctor after completing the course.

Dental of Faculty

In 1958, the dental faculty of Odessa university was formed. Students of the Faculty of Dentistry receive the state diploma of higher education in the specialty of “Dentistry”, after graduation.

International Faculty

At present, Odessa University has more than 1000 foreign students. They learn the newest medical technologies like endoscopic, laparoscopic, maxillofacial, plastic surgery, transplantation, tissue therapy, etc.

Faculty of Post Graduate

ONMU offers postgraduate studies in all Dental and Medical departments. The postgraduate courses are offered in English, Russian, or Ukrainian and the duration is 2 to 3 years.
