The college was exchanged from Odessa to Zaporozhye in the year 1959 and was renamed to Zaporozhye Pharmaceutical Institute.

Ten years later, in 1969, the name was changed to Zaporozhye Medical Institute. Lastly, in the year 1994, the organization got the status of Zaporozhye State Medical University.

Eligibility Criteria: For MBBS Course at Zaporozhye SMU

To study MBBS at Zaporozhye State Medical University, the following is the eligibility criteria:-

The candidate must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year in which the admission is being taken.
The Nationality of the students must be ‘Indian’.
All the candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology at their 10+2 level for 2 years continuously with English as the medium of study.
The candidate must have individually scored minimum 50% of marks in the same subjects like Physics, Biology, Chemistry, and English.
The candidates must have cleared NEET exam.

Facilities Provided by Zaporozhye State Medical University

The University Campus includes 3 academic buildings, libraries, 5 hostels, a sports complex, several cafes and canteens on its territory.

The diagnostic complex at the University consists of a functional diagnostic division, a room for Endoscopic examination, a clinical biochemical laboratory, the department of physiotherapy and rehabilitation and an X-ray room.
The University has a unique sports complex. There is a stadium with track and field athletic sectors, sports grounds for volleyball, handball, basketball, mini-football, football field, etc.
The University also has three gyms, tennis courts, a shooting range, a swimming pool, chess and draught club, and a fitness club.

Faculties at the Zaporozhye State Medical University

General Medicine. MD.

Zaporozhye State Medical University provides Medicine studies which are conducted exactly according to the international standard of medicine study.

Pediatrics. MD.

The Department of Pediatrics was opened in the ZSMU in 1985. The pediatric faculty became a member of the medical faculty of the ZSMU in 1996.

Dentistry

In July 2010, the department of dentistry started, in October 2013, the department was reorganized into the department of orthopedic, therapeutic, and pediatric dentistry.

Faculty of Pharmacy

The faculty of Pharmacy was founded in 1903. The pharmaceutical faculty first issued 148 pharmacists with the transfer of higher education to Zaporizhzhya in 1959.

Faculty of Postgraduate

Students study different specialties at the Faculty of Postgraduate education like phthisiology and pulmonology; general surgery and patient care; military medicine, traumatology and orthopedics; etc.

International Faculty

The International Faculty was founded in 1973. There are 1800 foreign students from 42 countries at the University currently studying in Ukrainian, English, and Russian for 1 year period.

Faculty of Nursing

The faculty of nursing at the Zaporozhye University practice trains medical nurses. Graduates with a degree in nursing allows to occupy administrative posts and work as medical nurses of a different profile.

Hostel and Accommodation

Student’s hostel is a separate territory which has special guard protection for 24 hours.
Giving attention at the hostels is the duty of the teachers.
